Serpents & Stones is now the seventh KontraSax production on the Cologne-based label JazzHausMusik and also marks the duo’s 35th anniversary on stage. This release is the result of their current musical exploration, as showcased in the anniversary concerts that served as the basis for this recording. The recordings for Serpents & Stones were made at O-Ton in Cologne, and once again they followed the plan of letting KontraSax’s music react live with the structures of other musicians and genres in the laboratory of free improvisation.
